I never had a cake plate before but now that I make a lot of birthday cakes, I've started to think more about what to put them on. This one turns so it helps you frost the cake. But it also has a low profile raised platform so it elevates your cake for a better presentation. Putting any cake on a platform makes it instantly seem more impressive.
