I bought two of these stands thinking they would not only be a cupcake stand but also function as centerpieces on the dessert table. I found that while the construction of them ( assembly required) was very easy and fast, the actual size didn't measure up to my expectations. They do hold the amount of cupcakes mentioned in its description but it didn't specify that the cupcakes had to be the small ones in order to fulfill that promise. It was difficult to place the frosted cupcakes on the stands without being "messy" as they needed to be crowded together to fit on the three levels. I was pleased that they held up well but felt that they were not as "fancy" as they appeared to be in the photos. If you are looking for a fancy cupcake stand to compliment your shower I suggest perhaps a different product, but this one is just fine for a more casual affair.
