I had purchased this product because I was making my best friend her wedding cake and while it had come on time, I was surprised (not in a good way) about some very important things... The pieces of the set were just tossed into a box with no protective packaging material in-between the pieces, so when the set had arrived, the pieces were scratched and warped. The scratching I didnt mind too much because the cake sits on top of the stand, and the bottom isn't noticeable when standing upright on the table, but the warping was hard to not notice as it caused the cakes to sit in a wavy way (Imagine the " ~ " symbol on your keyboard) so I had to cut the cake accordingly to even out the tip of the wave. Easy fix, of course, nothing a steady hand won't fix, but there was one thing that I couldn't fix so easily... The pieces didn't really fit together all that well, and some not at all. The middle display pieces didn't fit together so much that any weight at all would topple the top portion over. I used it for cupcakes, instead of flowers, but even the weight of one cupcake would cause the top to fall, so the weight of a boquet wouldn't even stand a chance. The rest of the pieces fit together a little more snuggly, but cutting the cake on the stand was near disastrious. The groom had to hold the whole top piece on while both of them sliced into the cake so the cake didn't topple over on them. I was really embarrassed bringing this set to their wedding, but at that point, I had no other option. I will admit, however, that the set looked beautiful standing on the cake table. The clear colums made it apear that the cakes were floating in the romantically dim lighting. I also did very much like that the center piece worked perfectly for cupcakes, as it was requested by the bride for the children at the reception. I also enjoyed how that even with the decorative piece in the center removed, (which we had to do due to the unstability,) the rest of the set looked stunning standing on it's own. The last part that I liked was how the collums were hollow. They were flimsy at best, but if you wanted, you could put the lights through it or flowers or anything you can imagine. They are a decent size to fit quite a bit, however, it is open ended on both the top and base of the stand, so you wouldn't be able to put sand or other unsupported objects in the collum without blocking off the bottom with plastic or some other stopper (which isn't included.) Overall, I would NOT reccomend this stand unless you want to bust out with the gorilla glue to hold it together and you don't mind the defects. To be completely honest, I was surprised that this set costs so much when the Acrylic is nothing more than flimsy and unstable plastic. I was also surprised that I had paid so much for such a poor packaging job, but then again, that's on the seller, not the product itself (keep in mind, though, that if it didn't ship well, it's not durable enough for repeated use!)Take caution if you are going to purchase this product, and be sure to leave enough time to contact the seller for a refund if yours comes in the condition that mine did (I REALLY wish I would have!!!)

I sent this item to my daughter and when she received it two of the plates were chipped and warped. Tubes were flimsy and did not stand straight on the table making it unuseable to put a wedding cake on and be comfortable that the cake would not fall. Daughter stated that it was poorly packaged and not worth the money paid for it.
