12 & 3/8-inches: Not 13-inches in Diameter

This is a beautiful cake plate, but overpriced I think, and is not 13-inches in diamater, but 12 & 3/8-inches, at least according to my Stanley steel tape measure. I really needed it to be 13-inches because I wanted to use it for my 10-inch diameter cheese cake, and have 1 & 1/2-inches clearance on both sides. Yes, we can put a man on the moon, but we are not able to measure the diameter of a cake plate.
