I own a small coffee and pastries restaurant for tourists on the beach in Mexico. These are very well made and well finished. The glass dome fits well with no open spaces along the edge, important here in the land of small flies. My cakes are presented beautifully and the plates are very heavy. This makes it easy to serve from without the danger of tipping. Several clients have asked me where I bought these. I told them of course!

Pros--This is heavy and attractive.Cons--The area where you can put a cake is smaller than the dimensions would lead you to expect, and the dome is short. I could barely put a 9" cake in here. It bumped against the dome and icing got all over the edges. You could use this for a shorter 8" cake, I guess, but nothing bigger.

I love making cakes and thought this pretty item would come in handy. As it turns out, There were several bubbles and scratch marks in the glass (both the base and cover). From a distance it still looks stunning, but I was disappointed in the quality.I also thought I was getting a great deal, but then saw the same thing at Wal-Mart for half the price. :(
