I have had one of these wonderful birthday cake stands for over 12 years. I am not sure where the other reviewer was getting her information, but the description the of the stand does NOT include actual balloons as part of the package. I have 11 children, 7 daughter/son-in-laws and 10 grandchildren. I have used it with great success with every birthday. There is no fishing for the first note when we sing "Happy Birthday To You." The lights that go around the cake add a delightful touch to the candles on top. With just the touch of a button the music and lights jazz up every birthday party...and I have had quite a few! I also like the fact that, because it is plastic, I feel comfortable being "helped" by little ones in carrying the cake. It isn't heavy and it is washable (big plus there). I have purchased a few extra for myself and am sending/planning to send a stand to each family on my list. I have also purchased them for newlyweds and wrapped up a box of cake mix and can of frosting for their first birthday celebration. It is always a hit! So...don't be afraid to get this item. Just be afraid that they will run out of them!
