This would be really cute for a single use (it is cardboard) but it came apart during assembly. The adhesive needed to attach the trim to the plates (and keep cupcakes from sliding off) worked well enough for two of the plates, but for the third the adhesive came right off the trim, so there was no way to attach it. I will be returning it.

It's so simple to put together it's almost tricky. The round platforms just slide right over the 2 crossed pieced that make the stem. Some slight shoving (for lack of a better word) is involved as there are small pieces of foam at the higher levels to keep the platforms in place. I didn't use the decorative boarders so I can't comment on those. But the stand itself is quite sturdy and easily held 30 cupcakes. My only gripe is that I got it for about nine dollars and it couldn't be more than a dollar fifty worth of materials. But even as cheap as I am I paid for convenience and looks and the strength of the whole thing was just a pleasant surprise.

I got this for my grandchildren to put together to have when we make cupcakes together. It was not worth the money - VERY flimsy and I doubt that it will last that long! VERY sorry I ordered this!!
