This is just as lovely in person as the picture depicts. A couple things not mentioned in the description (but that should be) are that the stand is 10" across and is mirrored. Also, it comes in two parts and the base gets screwed onto the top. Being an overly cautious person I chose to glue (I used "Goop" glue found at most craft stores and home improvement stores) the two parts together for added strength as I was putting a 3 tier wedding cake on it and didn't want to take any chances. It worked beautifully and help up great.The only problem I really had was that it took for-ever to get the stand. 3 1/2 weeks to be exact. So why did I still give it 5 stars you may ask? Because, I am reviewing only the item itself, not the shipping but I still felt I needed to mention you may want to order far enough in advance if ordering it for a special event.

I bought this cake stand for my daughter's wedding. It matched her theme. But was so surprised when it came in and I saw how heavy and sound it was. Our baker wants to know where we found such a great piece. Recommend wholeheartidly.
